The Raven is a bird that defies expectations. With a brain as sharp as its beak, this misunderstood creature is more prankster than predator. Sliding down rooftops for fun, making its own toys, and even dropping rocks on intruders? Now that's personality.
Revered by royalty and folklore alike (Her Majesty the Queen had eight!), this large silhouette brings a bit of gothic majesty and mystery to your garden. A bold piece for bird lovers, story lovers, and those with a slightly mischievous streak.

Add a touch of magic and mystery.
Choose a slightly elevated perch – For that dramatic effect.
Hold at a downward angle – Ravens love to loom.
Tap gently into wood – Post, beam or log.
Ensure it’s secure – Give a wiggle to test placement.
Admire its shadow at dusk – Or imagine it quoting Poe.
Top Tip: Position near tall grasses or gothic elements like stone or wrought iron.
Why is the Raven so big?
They’re one of the UK’s largest birds – and this sculpture reflects their impressive size.
Will it really last outdoors?
Yes – the Corten steel is weathering-grade and develops a stable rust-like finish.
Is this a gift idea for Ravenclaw fans?
Absolutely. It’s a brainy bird with style.
Does it look spooky?
In the best way – it’s more storybook than scary.
Does it come in a big box?
Yes – a flat-pack 39cm x 34cm box, ideal for gifting.

Each Metalbird is crafted from Corten® Steel, a premium, weathering steel made to last.
When it meets the elements, it doesn’t rust like your old BBQ. It transforms.
That change you’re seeing? That’s patina. A tough, protective outer layer that seals the steel, adds character, and preserves your bird for decades.
This isn’t paint. It’s nature’s way of ageing gracefully.
The Patina Process:
At first, you’ll notice bright orange spots (we call this the teenage phase). Soon enough, the whole bird will turn a bold orange, slowly shifting into deep burnt umber. Eventually, it settles into a moody charcoal that feels like it’s always belonged.
The Result? A piece of industrial art with a heartbeat. No peeling, no fading, just a bird that gets better with age.
what’s the word on the bird?

I had previously bought a raven for a friend as a birthday gift but found I had raven envy. This time I treated myself and am very pleased with the result. I've found the perfect spot for him to rule over our garden.
Bought this and other birds as gifts
Bought a few birds as presents for family at Christmas and all were very well received. Looking forward to seeing the birds journey as they patina.
Raven - what a wonderfully creative idea!!! Very pleased with our new Raven - it’s the name of our new house! Named after a book my husband wrote. Lots of lovely links.
Unique and stunning!
The Raven was a birthday gift for my brother. He absolutely loved it and put it up on the tree next to his tree house the same day!
I was given a small bird (kingfisher) for Christmas, which looks great on my apple tree.
A unique and unusual gift any lover of nature and birds would like.
Very impressed.
Bought the Blue Tit as a present for my sister. Liked it so much I bought the Raven for myself. Even though it's two dimensional it's very life like and has a dynamic quality. I put it up and still do a double take when I look out of the window.
Absolutely not Nevermore!
Raven is the best Metalbird we have bought. He has a great expression, and really justifies the weight of the Corten steel.
Marvellous. Thanks
Raven
It is my favourite metal bird so far (I have several) . Truly stunning, lifelike and substantial. I love it. Can we have a witch on a broomstick for Halloween ?
Fantastic
This is one formidable bird!! Big, bold and beautiful. The photo is my raven fixed to our fence. She protects the birds from local cats who seem unwilling to climb over the fence since she arrived! Excellent quality, easy to install. Arrived quickly and well wrapped. I need to buy more!
Perfect birds
Bought some for presents a while ago and have now bought more for us. All lovely, just difficult to decide where to place them so we can see them easily!
Perfect present
Bought my first metalbird as a birthday gift. It was very well received. It most definitely won't be my last purchase from metalbird.
Raven, Bat and small Robin
We love them, the look lovely on our shed as this is the only place we can put them, they have joined the mother and baby Robin already there, the small Robin is on the side of the bench
Gifts
I bought a few things as gifts , a couple haven't been presented yet , one I've had no feedback on because we are divorced and we chose not to comment on what we buy each other, and the remaining item has been fully appreciated and the person in question was already interested in Metalbird products . I have checked them all over and they are of an excellent standard , so you can assume I am happy with my purchases .
Wonderful Raven!
I already had the Robin (brought two @ Xmas, one for my sister) and absolutely loved it.
The Raven is a different item though, it’s absolutely massive compared to the Robin & the tang will need more than a tap to get it into into a tree as it’s huge! So I mounted it on the gate post with a bit of 2x4. The corten steel is now starting to weather nicely & it stilll makes me look every time as looks like it’s the cat sitting there! Bit expensive but excellent quality!
Huge.......
Really pleased with our latest edition but have yet to decide exactly where to place it. Very impressed with the quality and the swift delivery.
Thank you.
